From accidental beginnings, I’ve worked in and around housing since 1990. My first job was as a Housing Benefits officer in Newham, since when I’ve had about a dozen more, working for local councils, a housing association and a private developer. At the moment I manage a small council estate in north London.
As well as earning my living from it, I’ve tried to be involved in housing campaigns, particularly Defend Council Housing (DCH).
‘Housing is Boring’ is an attempt to disprove its title by sharing some of my thoughts and experiences on the many aspects of housing in our society.
